Training Courses
NDT courses
Module 1: VT
The program covers the physiology of vision and optics, photometry, and illumination. It teaches direct and remote visual inspection techniques and familiarizes participants with various inspection instruments such as dimensional gauges, welding gauges, and scopes. Participants learn to analyze documentation and standards, draft operating instructions, and conduct practical exercises.
Module 2: PT
Module 2 covers liquid penetrant testing (PT) in non-destructive testing. It explores defects from manufacturing and operational conditions, and teaches the principles of PT like capillarity and absorption. The module also details the types and selection of penetrant products (e.g., color-contrast, fluorescent, post-emulsifiable) and developers/cleaners. Hands-on exercises include surface prep, application, removal, and inspection. It also introduces specialized techniques, such as post-emulsifiable and high-temperature PT.
Module 3: MT
Module 3 of the NDT course covers magnetoscopy with magnetic particles (MT), providing an overview of NDT methods and metallurgical principles, including steel metallurgy and defect analysis. It also discusses basic electrotechnology concepts and tools/procedures for MT examinations. Practical activities involve preliminary tasks, examination procedures, and result evaluation. MT applications include inspecting machined products, welds, and various components like tubes, valves, and pumps. Practical exercises focus on data processing and drafting test reports to meet standard requirements.
Module 4 RT
The training encompasses the physical principles of radiographic inspection (X-rays and gamma rays) along with control techniques such as radiographic tubes, isotopes, and single or double-sided techniques. Instrumentation covered includes radiographic tubes, isotopes, viewers, and radiographic films. Participants learn to interpret radiographic films for various components like castings and welds. They also gain skills in characterizing and verbalizing indications and determining acceptability criteria. Additionally, the program covers the analysis and interpretation of applicable standards and codes, as well as drafting instructions.
Module 5: UT
Module 5 focuses on the ultrasound method, covering the assessment of ultrasound, product form evaluation, particularly of base materials and welds, and assessment of layered structures. Participants learn to detect discontinuities and evaluate test results. Practical sessions in the workshop provide hands-on experience in conducting ultrasound tests and interpreting results.

Ex Foundation – (2 days)
Supervisors, Contract Managers, Senior Management, Operators and Non-Practitioners. This course contains no practical skills training or practical assessment and is therefore most suited to anyone involved in Hazardous Area work that does not actually conduct the installation or inspection of electrical equipment
EX Foundation Plus – (3 days)
This is an alternative to the Foundation as this covers the same theory-based learning, but it also includes practical training. This allows the students to learn the correct techniques for glanding and terminating low voltage cables in hazardous areas. This is usually combined with the EX01-04 as students find it very useful during the practical exam of the EX01-04.
Ex01-Ex04 Gas and Vapours Environment – (5 days)
The course is targeted for practicing electricians working in explosive atmospheres / environments (for example, oil rigs, production platforms, electrical and sewage management plants, pharmaceutical factories, fuel stations etc.)
EX05-06 Dust – (3 days)
This qualification has been designed for practicing electrical or instrumentation technicians who work in hazardous locations where combustible dust, fibres which can form explosive atmosphere.
EX14 Responsible Persons – (4 days)
This course has been designed specifically for people who have the responsibility for scheduling inspections, determining inspection frequencies and types of inspection, checking inspection team competence, reviewing inspection results, and taking appropriate actions based on the inspection results.
EX11 Mechanical and Flange Integrity (3 days)
This has been created for mechanical engineers and fitters to gain a qualification in explosion safety to International Standards. CompEx EX11 is suitable for all personnel who may be required to break and isolate pipes to install or maintain Ex equipment such as pumps etc., and personnel who may need to select, install, or maintain Ex non-electrical equipment.
